In the 1970s and 1980s, the Drambuie Liqueur Company organised annual events for inflatable boats with small outboard motors to travel by canal from Glasgow to Edinburgh over two days. LUCS organised many of these events and teams of LUCS members took part enthusiastically and sometimes triumphed.
